On 18 October 2019, Chile triggered a powerful uprising called "Estallido Social" (Social Uprising) that kept the country mobilised for almost 3 months. Protests became daily marching along La Alameda, the main avenue in the capital of the country where hundreds and sometimes thousands of people demanded their basic rights shouting: DIGNITY! The walls were written day by day by the citizens and the demands were tattooed on the graphic skin of Santiago. Messages were read referring to: The Right to Water, Free and Quality Education, Dignified Pension System, Demilitarisation of the Mapuche people, Right to Health, Parity in Government Positions, Right to Abortion, 40 Hour Work Law, Protection of Forests, Punishment of Femicide, Right to Housing, just to name a few. A few days before the government in charge censored the messages on the walls, Carola Ureta Marín - visual communicator and designer - documented with the photographer Daniel Corvillón, 2.4 kilometres of route, giving birth to "The City as Text".
